My journey as a speech pathologist has always been guided by one deep belief: every child deserves to be heard, understood, and confident in their voice. With over 12 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working closely with children and families, celebrating every small word, every brave attempt, and every milestone achieved. I genuinely love working with children and creating a safe, joyful space where they feel supported, encouraged, and confident to communicate.
Speech therapy is not just my profession; it is my passion. I am deeply committed to providing speech therapy services that are result-focused and evidence-based, leading to real, meaningful progress. Through patience, play, and connection, I help children grow not only their communication skills but also their confidence and self-belief.

Ligin John, BASLP, MSPA-CPSP
Director & Lead Speech Pathologist
Ligin John is the Director and Lead Speech Pathologist at Awaken Speech, providing personalised speech pathology services in Bonnyrigg and across Sydney.
With more than 12 years of experience as a Senior Speech Pathologist and Clinical Supervisor, Ligin has extensive experience supporting children and adults with speech, language, communication and feeding difficulties.
As a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) and member of Speech Pathology Australia, Ligin is committed to evidence-based, ethical and family-centred care. She works closely with clients, parents, educators and multidisciplinary professionals to develop practical therapy plans tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
Her areas of experience include speech sound development, language and communication skills, feeding difficulties and broader communication support across the lifespan.
Ligin believes effective speech therapy should go beyond the therapy room. Her approach focuses on building practical communication skills that can be used confidently at home, school and in everyday life.
At Awaken Speech, her goal is simple: to provide compassionate, personalised speech pathology support that helps every client communicate with greater confidence, independence and connection.
